Essay - An Unforgettable Cricket Match

 

Each person watches sports. Most of them watch football, cricket, golf, tennis, etc. there are many people who are crazy in watching sports match. I’m also crazy for watching cricket match. I’ve watched many cricket matches. Among them there is a match, which can’t be forgotten by me.

It was NOV 5, 2009 At Hyderabad. in this match Aussie players had defeated India by three runs despite a scintillating 175 by Sachin Tendulkar, the master-blaster in the fifth one day international here on Rajiv Gandhi stadium on Thursday.

Tendulkar had smashed 19 fours and 4 sixes for his 45th ODI century in 49. 4 overs while chasing Australia is imposing 350-4 in 50 over. I can never forget this match. It’s the best one I have ever seen.

Tendulkar had shared a 137 runs partnership with Suresh Raina (59) to take India close in the day night encounter. But his dismissal in the 48th over proved the turning point of the game and handed Australia 3-2 lead in seven- match series. The game was under the hand of India till Tendulkar was on the crease. When Tendulkar was out and was returning to pavilion, all the Indian cricket fans were broken.

Debutant fast bowler Clint McKay picked three wickets, including that of Tendulkar which proved to be match winning wicket while Shane Watson took 3-3 wickets each in a single match.
Australia were also indebted to Shawn Marsh, who struck a career best 112 and shard 145 runs for the opening wicket with Watson after world champions won the toss and elected to bat at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium.

India began their chase in rollicking fashion with openers Virender Shewag (38) and Tendulkar putting on 66 runs in 53 balls but lost their way in middle with three quick dismissals. Not only this match but this whole series was very interesting to watch. This match was full of suspense when Aussie players gave target. I thought Australia will win but seeing Tendulkar’s performance , I thought India will win but after the wicket by Clint McKay of Tedulkar, Australia won the match.
I’m crazy for cricket. I’ve seen match of other teams but I love to watch India v/s Australia. I’ve seen many matches between India and Australia too. The match when Rohit Sharma scored 264 was also a nice match when but it didn’t had any suspense. There was clarity that India will win. But, this match was full of suspense, I loved this match. It's the match which I will never forget in my life.
